Phill

Note -- Impco has purchased FuelMaker's assets and as their website states, "BRC FuelMaker is committed to the continued production and support of the VRA and PHILL product lines. Both product lines will be back on the market in the near future."
Phill is Impco's (formerly FuelMaker's) most heavily advertised product and was developed in partnership with Honda for its Civic GX. Phill is a home, mainly indoor, natural gas fueling device. It mounts on the wall of your garage and slowly compresses natural gas to fill your vehicle. Phill is certified as a home appliance and is as safe as any other natural gas appliance that you may have in your home. A new Phill system costs approximately $4,000 or can be found used for a little less. Phill's compressor is good for 6,000 hours of service (approximatley 3,000 GGE's of CNG), then must be refurbished at the FuelMaker headquarters for approximatley $2,000. Federal (and possibly state/local) incentives exist for the purchase and installation of a new Phill system.
From my research, Phill is a good device but can take up to 16 hours to fill a Civic GX's 8 gallon tank (see Phill's specifications). I recommend you compare Phill with one of FuelMaker's single compression units when contemplating a refueling appliance for home use.
Read about one man's experience with a Phill installation, it is a good example.
